sum - the sum is the answer to an addition equation. For example, the sum of 12 and 8 is 20.  What is the sum of 15 and 4? Can  you find the sum of 32 and 56? 

 

addend - the numbers that you are adding. For example, when adding 5+2, 5 and 2 are the addends. What are some addends that equal 10?
