Multiplication
Product - the answer to a multiplication equation. For example, the product of 8x2 is 16. What is the product of 5x8 or 6x9?
Factors - the numbers that you are multiplying. For example, 3x2=6 3 and 2 are the factors.
Factor pairs - two numbers that you multiply to give you a certain product. For example, the factor pairs of 16 are (1,16), (2,8) and (4,4). What are the factor pairs for 25 or 32?
Multiples - repeated groups of the same amount. For example, the multiplies of 3 are 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18... What are the multiples of 5 or 8?
Equal groups - groups of objects that have the same amount in each group. For example, if you have 3 groups of 3, you actually have 3 groups and in each group you have 3 objects. If there were 5 mother bears, and they each had 2 cubs, how many bears would there be in all?
Repeated Addition - when you add the same amount over and over. For example, 4+4+4 or 8+8+8+8.
